About Us

TM CorneliusOur History

Children wandering on the streets. Latchkey kids. Juvenile delinquency. Lack of attention. All pointed to a need for something in Burkburnett to reach the youth of the community. T.M. Cornelius enlisted the help of several community leaders and began the quest for a local Boys Club. In 1975 the Club was chartered and the doors opened. At its inception it was a Boys Club and Mr. Cornelius was recruiting volunteer staff and members to join the organization. The current facility was built to house the growing population and welcomed both boys and girls of the community. Now, the Boys & Girls Club of Burkburnett boasts over 200 members participating in the After School Program, Summer Day Camp and sports leagues. Transportation is provided from all BISD elementary schools and the Middle School each school day where members receive homework assistance, leadership development skill training, arts and health & fitness programs. The Club is the only game in town serving members ages 5-14, with hopes of providing teen programs in the near future.

Hands to Hands Community Fund

Hands to Hands Community Fund was founded by concerned community leaders to help support programs and services of eight nonprofit agencies. These agencies serve children, adults and seniors whose needs are growing every day.  The people served by these eight agencies now need your help more than ever before.

These agencies feed the elderly, watch over neglected and abused children, care for children and adults with developmental disabilities, provide shelter for children living in harms way, and grow and develop tomorrow’s community leaders.
